The following terms & conditions regulate the contractual relationship between the Helsinki Card holder and Stromma Finland Oy Ab. By purchasing a Helsinki Card, the customer accepts these terms & conditions.
The Helsinki Card holder recognises that while visiting the attractions they are solely a contractual partner of the operator of the attraction in question.
To clarify, these terms & conditions only regulate the contractual relationship between Stromma Finland Oy Ab and the Helsinki Card holder with regard to the Helsinki Card.
The attractions included in the Helsinki Card are hereinafter referred to as “contractual partners” of Helsinki Card.
The purpose of the website helsinkicard.com is the sale of the Helsinki Card. An online purchase can only be made with a valid credit or debit card.

Helsinki Card partners
Partners such as OTAs and travel agents that sell the Helsinki Card.
Helsinki Card
A city card provided as a PDF file, containing one or more QR codes that give access to the benefits included in the purchased card type. Depending on the card type, the PDF may need to be shown digitally or in printed form.
Voucher number
The document with a voucher number received after purchasing the Helsinki Card on helsinkicard.com or from an authorised partner. The voucher number must be entered on the download page to obtain the Helsinki Card PDF.
Please note that the voucher is not a ready-to-use Helsinki Card.
Downloading and printing the Helsinki Card
Entering the voucher number on the download page of the helsinkicard.com website to receive the Helsinki Card PDF. Cards that include public transport must be printed, while cards without public transport can also be presented digitally.
Card Holder
The person using the Helsinki Card.
Attractions / Benefits
All services, sights, tours, and entries listed as included on the Helsinki Card website.
Activation
The Helsinki Card is activated the moment its QR code is scanned for the first time at an attraction.
For public transport, activation occurs when the printed public transport QR code is scanned for the first time at a blue public transport card reader.
Validity Period
The period during which the Helsinki Card is valid and the card holder is entitled to use its services and benefits, starting from the first activation or use as specified in the card type.
Contractual Partner
An attraction, service provider, or operator that has an agreement to accept the Helsinki Card according to its benefits listing.
Public Transport / HSL Transport
All transport services operated within the HSL region, including buses, trams, metro, commuter trains, and the Suomenlinna ferry. AB zones cover central Helsinki and nearby areas. ABC zones include a wider region, including the airport area and surrounding municipalities.
Public Transport (HSL) card reader
A public transport card reader is the blue device used to activate and validate tickets on buses, trams, metro platforms, train stations and by the Suomenlinna ferry.
- The Helsinki Card
The Helsinki Card is QR‑code‑based city card provided as a PDF. Depending on the card type, the PDF may be used digitally or must be presented in printed form. After a one‑time payment, the card allows the holder to enter each attraction listed on the Helsinki Card website once, during the validity period chosen at the time of purchase. The Helsinki card also entitles you to separately listed benefits and discounts.
Card Types:
Helsinki Card
- Includes all attraction and sightseeing benefits.
- Does not include public transport.
- Can be presented digitally (mobile phone or tablet) or printed on paper.
Helsinki Card CITY
- Includes all attraction and sightseeing benefits.
- Includes public transport in zones AB.
- Must be printed on paper to be valid on public transport.
Helsinki Card REGION
- Includes all attraction and sightseeing benefits.
- Includes public transport in zones ABC.
- Must be printed on paper to be valid on public transport.
- Card holder
The card holder is the person who has purchased the Helsinki Card, received a voucher number, and downloaded the card from the Helsinki Card website. The card is delivered as a PDF file containing one or more QR codes.
The Helsinki Card is personal and may not be given, sold, copied, or transferred to another person without written permission from Helsinki Card.
- Rights and duties of the card holder
During the validity period of the Helsinki Card, the card holder may use all benefits and services listed on the Helsinki Card website.
No refund or compensation is provided for attractions or services that are closed temporarily, have limited availability, are under maintenance or exhibition changes, or are otherwise unavailable. Unused benefits will not be refunded.
The card holder is responsible for checking opening hours and possible holiday closures before visiting attractions.
The card holder must store the Helsinki Card carefully. Any complaints related to the purchase must be directed to Stromma Finland Oy Ab.
Public Transportation
Public transport access is included only in the Helsinki Card CITY and Helsinki Card REGION card types. For these card types, the Helsinki Card PDF must be printed. The public transport QR code printed on the PDF must be activated at a public transport ticket reader or scanner before it is valid for travel.
The printed QR code is personal and may only be used by the card holder. It must not be copied, shared, photographed, or used by multiple people. A QR code shown on a mobile device or as an image is not valid and cannot be activated. Misuse may result in legal action.
When using public transportation, the card holder must present a printed, valid, and activated ticket upon request. Penalty fares and the cost of a single ticket may be charged from anyone travelling without a valid ticket.
A Helsinki Card that does not include public transport benefits (the basic Helsinki Card) cannot be used on public transportation.
- Liability
Stromma Finland Oy Ab is not liable for any deficiencies, damages, losses, or missing services caused by individual contractual partners. Any complaints or claims related to services provided by a contractual partner must be directed to that partner, and the partner’s own terms and conditions shall apply. Stromma Finland Oy Ab is not responsible for complaints arising during the card holder’s visit to a contractual partner.
Stromma Finland is not responsible for, and will not cover, any penalty fares issued due to the public transport QR code not being printed or activated by the card holder
Any claim must be submitted in writing within one (1) calendar month of the relevant event. Claims must be sent by e‑mail to sales@stromma.fi.
Stromma Finland Oy Ab’s liability for compensation is limited to the direct cost of the Helsinki Card.
- Period of validity
The Helsinki Card is valid for the chosen duration, as agreed. This agreed-upon validity period will be printed on the Helsinki Card.
The voucher code you receive after purchasing the Helsinki Card is valid for 6 months. Within this time, you must use the voucher code to download your Helsinki Card from our website. After downloading, the Helsinki Card is valid for 1 year.
The validity of the Helsinki Card begins when the card holder activates the card for the first time at an attraction. For Helsinki Cards that include public transportation (CITY and REGION), the public transportation ticket becomes valid only after it has been printed on paper and activated at a blue public transportation card reader / scanner.
If the cooperation agreement between Helsinki Card and a partner attraction ends, the Helsinki Card will no longer be accepted at that attraction.
- Distance and Doorstep Sales Act
Stromma Finland Oy Ab follows the Distance and Doorstep Sales Act.
You may cancel your purchase within 90 days of the purchase date, if the card has not been downloaded.
The Helsinki Card is delivered as digital content (a PDF with QR codes) after the voucher number is used and the card is downloaded on the Helsinkicard.com webpage. Once the download has begun, cancellation is not permitted and no refund will be given.
Cancellation must be requested by e‑mail (sales@stromma.fi) to Stromma Finland Oy Ab within this 90‑day period.
Stromma will refund the payment within 14 days of receiving the cancellation notice.
If the card has been downloaded or activated, it can no longer be cancelled.
Helsinki Card Sales Points
Cards purchased from these sales points are downloaded immediately and therefore cannot be cancelled or refunded.
Helsinki Card partners
The partner’s own terms and conditions apply. Downloaded cards cannot be cancelled or refunded.

- Privacy and data protection
Stromma Finland Oy Ab processes the cardholder's personal data received (in particular: full name, address, and the type, date, time and scope of services received), hereinafter referred to as “data”, and the data obtained during the use of the Helsinki Card. By purchasing the Helsinki Card, the cardholder agrees that these data may also be used by Helsinki Card and its contractual partners for tourism-related evaluations and for the development and optimisation of the Helsinki Card. The data may also be processed by parties with which Stromma Finland Oy Ab cooperate to provide the card. At any time, the cardholder may withdraw this consent without giving any reason by contacting Stromma Finland Oy AB. The data shall not be disclosed to third parties.
- Miscellaneous
Additional agreements shall only be valid in writing.
The Publishers reserve all property rights under statute and common law including the rights in the name My Helsinki Card and Helsinki Card.
