Opened to the public in 2016, Vallisaari has become one of the most popular excursion destinations in maritime Helsinki. It is located only a 20-minute ferry ride from Market Square, next to Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, and from the Vallisaari island you can also reach Kuninkaansaari via a stone causeway. The stunning nature, diverse services, and military historical sites of Vallisaari and Kuninkaansaari attract visitors from spring through autumn.

JT-Line’s ferry operates from the Market Square’s Cholera Basin to Vallisaari from 20 May to 12 September 2026. In May and September, services operate from Wednesday to Saturday, and daily during June, July, and August.
