Theatre Museum

The Theatre Museum offers information, insights, joy and entertainment.

The Theatre Museum's experiential exhibitions allow visitors to immerse themselves in the performing arts and their history or try their hand at different aspects of theatre. Experiment with light and sound effects, choose a costume and change roles – the stage is waiting for you!

The Theatre Museum's exhibitions mainly focus on Finnish performing arts – theatre, dance, opera, circus and performance art. The permanent exhibition It’s Showtime tells the story of the creation of a performance, from an idea to the premiere. At the Arkadia Theatre, you can first journey through theatre history and then step through the dressing room onto the stage to become the star of your own unique performance. Temporary exhibitions complement the themes of the permanent exhibitions. Check the website for current exhibitions.

The Theatre Museum offers a range of workshops to introduce you to exhibitions and different aspects of the performing arts. The workshops and guided tours focus on visitors' own work. The museum also organizes a variety of activities open to the public: theme days, artists' meetings, theatre games for children, etc.
