Set amid Nuuksio National Park, Haltia Nature Centre is a great day out for those who want to get out of the city and into some green space. Focussing on environment and nature, Haltia's stunning exhibitions bring to life the best of Finland's nature, in all seasons, whilst highlighting the importance of environmental protection. Did you know it was the first public building in Finland to be made entirely out of CLT wood elements?

Haltia's main exhibition brings to life the cycle of nature and its ecosystems in a range of media, interactive displays and works of art. Taking visitors on a journey from the Finnish Archipelago to the fells of Lapland - including all 39 Finland's national parks - experience the beauty of Finland all-year-round with a touch of Kalevala mythology, too.

There are also many walks and trails to enjoy throughout the National Park, so it's well worth spending a full day in and among some of Finland's most beautiful nature.

How to get there:

- Bus 85, 85A (from) Espoon keskus
- Free public transport with Helsinki Region Card
